Project Title: Cultural Identity Mural Board

Module: Intercultural Awareness in HTLE (CULT1004)

Goal: The aim of this project was to create a Cultural Identity Mural Board that visually and reflectively explored who I am, using class topics as inspiration. Each week, I added ideas based on what we discussed in class, focusing on aspects of cultural identity such as nationality, ethnicity, hobbies, gender, and more. The project encouraged ongoing reflection and creativity, leading to a deeper understanding of myself and others.

What I Learned: This project helped me better understand not only my own cultural identity but also the complexity and depth of other cultures. I realized that cultural identity is more than what’s visible, it’s shaped by values, experiences, and history. Reflecting on my background allowed me to appreciate diversity more deeply and reminded me that understanding my own culture is the first step toward embracing and learning from others. It has increased my self-awareness and intercultural sensitivity.
