Hello! Welcome to My Blog

Hello! My name is Dennilyn Santiaguel, and I am a 2nd-year tourism and digital marketing student at TU Dublin. I wanted to start this blog to document my journey in learning tourism and digital marketing, practice my writing, and create digital content. I have always been interested in learning and working in the tourism industry. I have even completed a QQI level 5 in tourism with business at Liberties College, which led me to study this course. What I love about this field so far is studying destinations and how to promote or manage their tourism.

My course has focused so far on tourism, management, communication, and marketing. The modules that stood out to me the most are Management and Tourism Destination, and Travel. I enjoyed learning about how to be an effective manager and manage teams successfully in general. I also loved studying destinations and their tourism, as well as learning about how to manage their impacts, whether economic or environmental. My journey in creating this website has made me discover skills that have helped me choose a career path. I love using different digital tools such as Canva, WordPress, Capcut and many more applications, which have helped me bring out my creativity in designing my website, as you can see.

My goals include developing a further understanding of how Digital Marketing works, not just in general, but also especially in the HTLE sector. I am eager to learn different skills and knowledge in this field that will help me achieve my career goals. Key areas that I want to improve and develop further this semester are my understanding of tourism and digital marketing, my writing skills and how to operate other digital tools available.

I want to use this space to reflect on what I am learning, showcase my creativity and share my future projects. Starting my first blog made me feel closer to my goal, and I am excited to share my growth and development in this journey, and hopefully, I will also inspire other people or students on figuring out their digital path.

To my readers: The journey can be challenging, but with patience and consistency, you will get there eventually.
